The future Mrs. Ole Olson is 14 years old in this family portrait. Anna Bjorningstad sits between her parents, Ole Hanson Bjorningstad and Anna Marie Bjorningstad in this photo from 1882. Anna was born December 26th, 1868 in Ulensaker, Norway. She moved to the United States in 1888. She and her husband Ole Olson would raise 9 children in Colfax. She died in 1954.

Olavus Williamson Olson was born December 8th, 1863 in Ulensaker Norway. He was the son of Ole Williamson and Dorothy Olson...both lived their entire lives in Norway. He arrived in the United States in 1883 and began work as a stone cutter. He would eventually become the superintendent of the Colfax Stone Company. He was a community leader until his death in 1932.

A PROUD AND RESPECTED FAMILY

Ole and Anna married in Red Wing, Minnesota in 1891. They would soon begin a family and eventually move to Colfax Wisconsin. All nine of their children were born in Frontenac, Minnesota.

Bertha Helen (1892-1970) Married to Alvin Hinson (1892-1972). Three children: Arvin, Oliver, Myron.

Norman Richard (1894-1984) Married to Myrtle Grace Studley (1896- 1981). Four children: Gaynel, Norman, Avanell, Volney

Elizabeth Mina (1895-1963) Married to William Stockland (1890-1963). Three children: Roland, Doris, Wilda

Hilda Marie (1896-1972) Married to Albert Cardinal (?-?) No children

Selma Louise (1898-1988) Married to Edgar Close (1896-1974). Five children: Phyllis, Joy, Shirley, Inez, Robert.

Roy Hiram (1899-1996) Married Margaret Sanders (1906-1976). three children: Marlin, Darlene, Orville.

Stanley Alexander (1901-1948). Married Gladys Gaard (1905-1994). Six children: Wesley, Stuart, Merlin, Mark, Dale, Frederick.

Esther May (1903-1980) Married Fenwick Buzzelle (1902-1977). No children.

Dorothy Margaret (1905-1980) Married Donald Hebner (1908-1972). One child: Margaret Ann Hebner.
