Our Viking ancestors once violently conquered significant parts of The Old World, and yes, even explored the North Atlantic and North America...The New World. Their achievements were astounding. We like to think they brought civilization to England and the other places they "visited" although this interpretation is not shared by all. Of this there is no doubt...Norwegians by the thousands migrated to the upper Midwest of the United States in the late 1800's. They were farmers, they were railroad builders and they were the skilled craftsman who would be the backbone of the development of Wisconsin, Minnesota and the Dakotas in those years. They were also my ancestors. This site is meant to be a tribute to them as much as a genealogical record. The story is far from complete and you are invited to send us information and photos to help complete the saga of these special people.
