DRAMA AT THE FEEDER

It started with a pair of bluebirds.  They chose a busy feeder to make a nest.  They unfortunately had to defend their nest against squirrels and other birds.  In the course of the adventure, squirrels managed to damage the feeder/nesting location and I had to use the white cord to effect temporary repairs.  If you've ever seen the wide open mouths of baby birds you understand why I was limited to minimal repairs that wouldn't cause debris to fall into hungry mouths.

All of these photos were made in approximately a two week period in early June in Florida.

In the following 5 photos, both birds attacked intruding squirrels.
